Phuket Weather Situation - Upcoming Wedding!

Hi everyone - my fiance and I are getting married on Phuket on April 22nd, and we fly out on the 16th.

I would be really grateful for an update on the weather from anyone 'on the ground' - I'm really not sure how accurate the forecasts are, and although I know that there isn't much we can do about it at this point, we do have 30 people coming out for our wedding and I'd like to be prepared if the weather really is going to be awful!

We've been to Thailand quite a few times before at this time of year, and there's never been weather like this.

Am trying not to get depressed about it! :)

Thank you for any feedback.......

Crazy year for weather.

Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.

I hope the weather works out for you and the bride.

Best wishes.

Any normal April and we could say no problem, sun and more sun. This year all bets are off. But it's been looking good this past week, talk about no more rain for a long while. But no guarantees, hope for the best, and the best of luck.

I know it's been crazy unusual......we were in Southern Thailand end of March / beginning of April last year and the weather was amazing. Incredibly hot & sunny. We know there is nothing we can do about the weather, was just hoping for some good news :) Will be keeping everything crossed.

There is no one who can predict what the weather will be in certain time in two weeks.

This year the weather has been, well, different. Mostly due La nina.

If you wish to be prepared for the special occasion, you should do so.

Then again. It's just rain. The main thing is still your voes, no matter if it would rain or if there would be clear skies.

Thank you. We know if it rains a bit on our wedding day that isn't the end of the world....but we have 30 x guests coming and I wanted to be able to advise them on what to prepare for based on actual info from Phuket, not the very unpredictable long range forecasts......I know we can't do anything, but for lots of the people coming this will be their main/only holiday of the year, and we'd feel terrible if the weather was really bad.....because they are coming for our wedding!

I am the bride :) We are just keeping everything crossed and we'll see what happens I guess. I think we just wanted to be able to give our guests the heads up on the reality if the weather did get worse, rather than relying on forecasts and random news stories......we feel a responsibility because we have 30 x people flying out for our ceremony.......we also have the rest of our trip planned out going to Phi Phi, Lanta, Koh Hai & Koh Lipe - the Phi Phi/Lanta part we are doing with about 15 of our friends, and if the ferries weren't running there would be ALOT of reorganising of accommodation etc to do. Obviously as this is our wedding/honeymoon we were hoping for it to be as stress free as possible! Fingers crossed :)

I'm sure you will anyway, but check back in, and ask again 3 or 4 days before you fly. People should be in a much better position to tell you what the forcast is then, and your guests will still have time to prepare what to bring.

The law of averages is on your side, regardless of recent madness.

Good luck.

Yes - I will definitely do that - thank you. It feels so close now because we are flying out next Saturday, but I know the weather could change loads between now and then, and between then and the wedding date. I just want to do the best possible prep and give our guests a heads up on the situation......and of course keep good vibes going for the weather to keep improving! :)

If it stays like it is now, you'll be in for hot sunny days and nice mild evenings. Good sunsets right now.

I realise you are going to be a little too busy getting ready, to be reading Thai Visa, but just in case. I hope you and your partner have a great day tomorrow. The weather shouldn't be a problem, and I can't think of a better place to be starting life as a married couple than Phuket. Good luck.
