Malaysia'S Anti-Gay Camp

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've just read about this on the BBC website (http://www.bbc.co.uk...acific-13141466) and thought it was appalling enough and near enough Thailand to bring it to your attention. Better not go and camp around Malaysia or u might get booted!

Seriously, though, how appalling for young boys to be treated like that.

I have requested a campaign to be set up at Avaaz.org against this barbarism - if anyone is interested - but haven't had a response yet.

Well, look at the bright side. I reckon many a schoolboy romance will be started there at the Butch Camp. Also, at least Islamic state religion Malaysia doesn't murder their homosexuals as do some other states in the modern world.

Gays Deserve Torture, Death Penalty, Iranian Minister Says

Of course, these camps won't make these boys straight if they ain't straight, but they certainly will mess with their brains.

Your shallow flippancy delights. I bet that's a great comfort to some of the boys - some of whom may think it is better to be dead in Iran than alive and humiliated by their teachers and family, who presumably are involved in getting them 'put away and corrected' in Malaysia.

Additionally, the Federal Government has, in the persona of the Minister for Women, intervened by declaring this harebrained scheme devised by fundamentalist 'educators' (likely semi-literate mullahs and muezzins) in 'the conservative state of Terengganu' to be illegal. Thankfully, the Malaysian Federal Government and courts seem willing and able to restrain the worst excesses of the religious nutjobs holding sway in some of these obscure Malay backwaters.
