Help With Cycle Tyre Shop

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a British made Brompton folding bike with I think 20x1 3/8 inch tyres.

I live in Surat and can't get replacements anywhere.

Over Song Khran I went to Bangkok, but my attempts failed. I don't know Bangkok well though.

Does anyone know a good bike shop that stocks or could order odd sized foreign tyres and inner tubes please?

If I could order by phone or on line it would be ideal.

I love my Bromptonn! I love cycling!

Thanks

Graham

Two things Graham:

20" is the same size as BMX tyres, although these may be wider.

Secondly, quicker to order on internet. You'd have them in a week.

Try Chain Reaction Cycles

Thanks, I could order from the UK, the problem is I dont have a credit card any more :(

I was thinking it would be easier to purchase something in Thailand for that reason.

last time I was in TCA Bikes in Chiang Mai (just before songkran), they had a couple of 20" tires in stock. Sorry, but I don't remember the width.

They have an even bigger shop in Bangkok, and sell Bike Fridays, so they should have what you need: http://www.tcabike.com/www/index.php?p=p_41

Just curious -- how do you propose to order online or by phone without a credit card???

ProBike have dealers nationwide and they sell Dahons which have 20"wheels

Look hereto find a local dealer who will order from ProBike, Bangkok

  • 2 weeks later...

Check out www.bicyclethailand.com they have an extensive list of bike shops on their website, maybe a few phone calls.

You see plenty of folding bikes in Bangkok on 20" should not be hard to find.
