Have Non-B - Can I Get Retirement Extension Of Stay?

Recommended Posts

I am staying in Thailand right now with a non-B visa, valid for one year, expires in August. I have no extension of stay and no work permit.

Could I get an extension of stay based on retirement with this non-B visa?

I am 50 years old and could put 800k Baht in a Thai bank account now, so it would have been in the bank for 3 months by the time the non-B visa expires.

Thanks, Farrol

Yes, no problem at all. Just apply for an extension of stay based on retirement and submit the required documents. Don't forget the bank letter next to the updated bank book.

But with an extension based on retirement you will not get a work permit.

Thanks that's good news.

So just to make sure:

- Non-O visa is not necessary, my Non-B will do?

- Can I get a 1 year extension of stay which can be renewed every year?

- Can I get a multiple re-entry permit for travel at that time also?

And do I need to apply for the retirement extension of stay before the non-B expires?

Or could I also do it in the following 90 days I get when I enter Thailand just before the visa expires?

The non-B visa will do

Yes, you get a 1 year extension of stay, wich you can renew every year.

Yes, you can apply for teh multiple re-entry permit.

You can apply during the last 30 days of any 90 day entry, so you can just do a border run for a new 90 days just before the visa expires and apply during the last 30 days of that entry.

Apply a week or two before your permission to stay expires, your extension will start anyway from the date your current permission to stay ends. So you don't lose any days and are sure you will have time in case any documents might be missing.
