Four people were taken to hospital and a glass door smashed as a near-riot broke out at Beijing's top Apple store among crowds rushing to snap up the popular iPad 2 tablet computer, according to state press.

To be honest, it was just a matter of time when something like this would happen. I am not too much surprised about it, although it is definitely something people should think about. I mean, this is ridiculous. People hurt each other for a tech product? Jesus, don't these people have any other problems than that? This is both scary and over the top!

Well, there was no one fighting when I Pad 2 were released in Phantip IStudio on Friday... everyone very orderly and patient ... :)

We filled out what we needed on a form, then they let every one in, 5 at a time.... I was surprised to be the only "farang" in the line of about 50.... The shop was very well organized in dealing with it and every thing checked to make sure it was working, before leaving!

well, probably because farang already owned the iPad before the official release here ;-)
