Each european winter,I spend 3 months in Thaïland with a Non-Immigrant Visa O (I am 69) from the Thai Consulate in Geneva.

On this visa, there is a mention:"Extension of stay non permitted"

What does it mean? and Why?So many people ask an extension of stay once in Thaïland!

Means you cannot get the usual 30 day extension that a Tourist Visa gets.

You can extend if you qualify by means of Thai Spouse,Retirement etc.

Thank you very much:it is clear now for me!

It means that the Thai consulate in Geneva has stamped wrong information in the passport. Extension of stay is possible for a variety of reasons if requirements are met.

That is a stamp placed on non immigrant visas to differentiate them from the normal tourist visa where a 30 day extension is normal. It has been in use at least the last 20 years. I was often asked by Consulate if I objected to having the stamp as they would forget it if I felt it would cause a problem getting an authorized extension of stay. Never found it to be an issue with Immigration during extension requests however.
