Does anyone know if the alcohol ban enforced this coming Tuesday is only in effect on Tuesday itself, or does it begin the evening before?

And, before the inevitable, typical replies come in - yes, I know there is always somewhere to get a beer on these occasions; and, yes, I can go for a day without booze but I'd just like to know.

Did you know there is always somewhere to get beer on these occasions? Also, can't you go a day without booze?

On the last Buddha day I was in Walking Street having a few sneaky beers, and at midnight all the lights, music, noise started - quite amazing to see.

From that I am guessing it is a midnight - midnight thing so Monday will be early closing.

Again I am guessing, as weirdly for the several dozen Buddha days I have lived here, I have never been in a bar area at midnight either the day before or the day itself (until February).

Midnight closing wouldn't be too bad, as long as places are open up until then.

I realise these replies are in jest, but does anyone out there actually know the answer to this?

I don't know but can't he go a day without booze?

Hopefully in jest also...

In principle : Monday 16 at midnight till Tuesday 17 midnight.

Thanks, hopefully this is the case.

There is no reason or possibility that the bars would close before midnight on Monday, I think the only unknown is if they actually will!
