Is It Coming To Samui?

Featured Replies

both the Pattaya forum and Phuket forum have topics running about 100 MB internet connections ( some posters even have 20 MB connections already from True !, can we get this here? )

the topics - http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/467469-true-100mbps-fiber/ and http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/467632-ultra-high-speed-internet-coming-to-pattaya/

so will samui get this service, as the internet is terrible on the island, and i dont think anyone is getting over a 5 mb download speed ....

Someone mentioned (to my surprise - i was wrong) a few days ago they had got CAT Fiber on the island, 30mb or something like that, if quality/reliability is similar to CAT HiNet, combined with the increase speeds then thats pretty dam_n smart. CAT usually has a premium price, a whilst not dedicated or guaranteed by any means, it is generally worth the price.

Last Result:

Download Speed: 5292 kbps (661.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 668 kbps (83.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 486 ms

This is what I'm getting from the Bangkok server in London. I'll do the same test later in the week ion Samui and see just how bad it is. If there is any electricity that is.

you can get up to 20mb in koh samui using adsl 2+.
