Money Belt

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone happen to know anywhere that I might be able to find a money belt in Bangkok? The type I'm referring to is the pouch type thing that you put your money in and keep it under your trousers. They used to be very popular but I havent seen them for a few years. They are very handy for travel as taking a pocket load of cash isnt too wise for many reasons.

Thanks and regards,

Falcon

not the same thing, but i once had a belt that had a zippered lining that i could stash things...bought it at mbk.

looked like a regular belt, but with a zipper on the back.

Maybe not much help but I bought mine (faux leather) on Second Road in Pattaya.

I have one.

Its made from Stingray skin.

2nd Floor Royal Garden Plaza Pattaya - 2nd road end North side of building - sells handbags wallets in various skins and leathers.

If in BKK - Chatuchak market...two small cute Thai ladies have a made to measure belt stall. They do a roaring trade. I bought a belt from them and they fitted my Stingray one with a new buckle and cut it to correct length. Not easy to describe how you find the stall in the rabbit warren Chatuchack is... I know it is on a corner under cover next to a stall that sells machetes and various knves and chopping impliments..... sorry best I can say.

The snakeskin and similar ones are OK but limited space for money. Can get the more common cloth one with pouches in most proper luggage sections at Central and similar, also at luggage stores in the section with travel accessories (neck pillows, eyshades, etc).

At least my belt is from a farmed fish....

These poor Faux are treated badly in small cages or the wild ones are trapped in snares.....:P

HI,

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I live in Bangkok so will take a look at the places here that you have mentioned, otherwise, if I cant find one here I will jump in the car and take a drive down to Pattaya.

Thanks all once again, your help is very much appreciated.
