Also seen the main vehicle being protected be a Mini, it is actually owned by one of the Princesses, and she often drives around in it, with all the escorts.

you sure it wasnt a honda city modded to look like a porsche?

after seeing a suzuki grand vitara modded into a land rover.. anything's possible.

Why on earth would someone use a Honda city(which looks nothing like a Porsche) to look like a Porsche????????? it was a black Porsche with red lights on the roof as were a few of the other expensive cars in the convoy.

So what other cars did they have? Any Caddies? There's nothing lackin' when you're cadillac'n

OP, sure it was Thai plate?

a group with fast cars from Singapore have just been here (or are still here), and some of them have policelights on the roof. I spotted at least one black Porsche and a white Civic R with juiceblenders on roof

I diden't notice the plates only saw the Porsche whizz by followed by Renault Megan(very nice one), Merc, Red Honda civic (modified) plus some others. so maybe you are right about the Singapore cars..

Except for a few Chevy Tahoe/Suburban and Ford Explorer/Expidition/Excursion SUV, most Thai plated Police cars (and Royal cars) are supplied by Thai importers/dealers, thus Renault Megane is not likely Thai

The Civic R I spotted as last car in convoy had like 4inch exhaustend and sounded like thunder. No stock 220hp for sure

All cars with big exhausts sound like thunder I know mine does with it's 4" exhaust.

well there is thunder from a large displacement engine or extremely tuned engine, and there is wannabe imagined thunder from straight pipe tiny steeds or yaris 4inch.

no insults intended as I know you dont have a yaris

He knows, because he has one parked in his driveway, right next to a 1972 Vega modded to look like a HUMVEE

You mean like this Caddy??

Obama's Caddy breaks suspension with Michelle in it

JFYI The report says the car bottomed out but in reality it had a complete front suspension failure obviously due to overload................ It's already a tank but Michelle put it over the edge maybe :whistling: ?

Even though a highly modified car, not a fantastic advert for Caddy especially since ousting Lincoln from the President's limo line, can't remember any Continentals doing this in my life time.. B)

yes, thats the answer, the group from Singapore are in Phuket again, they usually have police escorting them, when they arrive in Thailand border town, and they stay with them all the time untill they leave Tthaailand....i know because i usually help them with there activities, but this year i am out of the country...they are all Singapore motor sports enthusiasts, they come to phuket very year....

I am surprised the singaporean cars with police lights were allowed to twice cross a border.

You have obviously lived here a while and you are surprised ???

Yes, mainly by Malaysia.

Yes the Lincoln's had a lot of class back in the old days but they drive like a boat. I have owned several Caddies and it probably comes down to the personal tastes like the Ford/ Chevy lovers friendly feud... I personally never had any fat chicks test my suspension, until my F-250 and it held up.:D

TiT!

Why on earth would someone put a Benz Star on the front hood of a Honda, why would someone wear a Breitling or Patek Phillip watch for 4000.- ThB or a Guggi, Fendi, Louis Vuitton Bag for 2500.- ThB have a Silicon and Botox remodelled body, why sell cheap Farm-Tilapa "Tub Tim" for "Red Snapper", why Glass as Ruby, why dressing and posing as women, even they are men.... or, or, or why, why, why?

no one else curious about the "honda petrol sta(t)ion" ?

I guess this is the big Shell station adjacent to the big Honda dealer on Chaofa West ... B)

yepp, and Shell V-Power 95 is the best fuel available in TH, and needed to keep these cars happy. Actaully not totally happy, but as happy fuel as possible in TH

It is a convoy of the Singapore based Traction Circle Club on their "Phuket Drive 2011". They aren't police cars, well except for the escort vehicle which was a white Thai Tourist Police Toyota Corolla when I saw them. I got a chance to look at the vehicles up close the other day when they were parked behind Da Vinci's in Rawaii. Several cars are outfitted with flashing lights on top and they all have large door logo's, and they are always escorted by a Thai police, same as when we have police escorted our motorcycle rides. Some average-ish cars, and some very nice cars, including some beemers and Porches. Not Honda City's modded to look like a Porsche.

This is probably the red Honda Civic you saw:

I was just reading in their forum that everyone needs to bring lots of octane boost due to the low octane ratings of Thai gas. My Ninja loved the 98 when I was in Malaysia.

In my opinion the PTT 95 100% petrol offers the best octane. Shell V-power 95 is a mix petrol & ethanol (gasohol as it's known in Thailand).
