0825 and queue from door to opposite wall - get at end.

0830 door opens - most continue to queue counter - of the dozen or so in my line none have paperwork and must return to first room

0833 receive queue - three ahead of me

0845 called - present passport/arrival card/signed copies, US Embassy income letter/one week old, TM7 signed with photo and tel number at top of second page (downloaded form).

0847 pay 1,900 baht fee and fill out two forms (bio/guarantee info and warning loss of status will be subject to Thai laws)

0853 receive receipt and have photo taken - no finger prints this year

0855 have passport stamp signed by officer and depart

Keep the reports coming from Bangkok.

Of course, the thing many are watching now is if there is any truth the info in the OP of the other thread at Bangkok for Americans on retirement extensions and using income letters being required to show more evidence and/or proof of IMPORT.

This report provides some evidence this is not happening consistently. However, keep in mind there was yet another thread started in March saying some Americans were bothered with needing more proof and some explicitly warned the policy was changing and they would be required the NEXT time.

So don't jump to conclusions YET based on one report.

I think you forgot one step

0825 and queue from door to opposite wall - get at end.

0830 door opens, queue jumpers appear from nowhere and barge to the front of the queue - most continue to queue counter - of the dozen or so in my line none have paperwork and must return to first room.......

Sick of them

I did not experience that. May have been a handful but not more than that and line moved very orderly and quickly.

As we all know another persons report is not mine. Who knows the people in Mar. may have been confused about what was being asked for, the process can be very daunting at times. Thanks Lop for a very concise report without any confusion.

Lets see no tea money requested, no immigration officer with attitude. Was there a chorus line with cheerleaders telling you you where not wanted. lol
