Am I Famous?

Recommended Posts

Yes, you are famous.

Next.

You silly fool. That's not the meaning of the thread at all. Please reread the OP and pay attention you doughnut.

Its not about whether or not he's famous its all about how relatively famous he is and if we all gossip about him behind his back.

Honestly its hard work here sometimes!

Compared to myself, he is famous. Will this answer relieve your stress?

Impossible. Only rivers of blood or cold hard cash will suffice. Anyway to answer your statement clearly he is the established star.....maybe he's having nightmares about all these new up and coming stars of TV.

Or maybe he already created a few new personas to disguise his hefty post count.....

OK Ginger,

I will give you some quality feedback,

I had a quiet drink with a well respected poster on here and your name was mentioned in dispatches, (it was a long night) but you know, you wouldn't want to know, at least part of that conversation.

I will leave you with an Old Irish Proverb:

If you want to be criticized, marry

(In)famous! :P

Is there a difference? Just spell my name right. That's Jingthing not Jingers, not Jingthang, etc.

infamous - definition of infamous by the Free Online Dictionary ...

www.thefreedictionary.com/infamous - CachedCausing or deserving infamy; heinous: an infamous deed. 3. Law. a. Punishable by severe measures, such as death, long imprisonment, or loss of civil rights. ...

I expected generally to be dissed IF people were talking. That isn't the question. The question was IF people are talking. People always talk trash about celebs, that's very normal and not necessarily bad for celebs as at least people are talking. This well respected poster, is he a well respected poster or a well respected and FAMOUS poster? You're right, I don't want or need to hear the details of any dissing. Nothing I haven't probably already heard online here anyway.

Thinking more about this, it becomes clear to me that IF I am "famous" in the limited world of thaivisa, a number of other posters here are also similarly famous. I think you know who some of them are ...

You were not being dissed, not in the conversation I was involved in anyway.

I guess part of being famous is leaving a legacy, you have just left yours, I have never used 'dissed' before and I guess I never will again.

Good Luck

I have experienced once how a group of people talked about "The self-acclaimed financial wiz-kid of TV" around a coffee table at one of the financial institutions in BKK. It wasn't in a, shall we say "flattering", way this guy was famed, but they sure had a good laugh. And who can blame them!?

:D

Jingthing comes up fairly often in conversations with the people that I know. The consensus seems to be he is an interesting and entertaining poster, but waaay out there on most of his political views and on gay issues.

never heard of you before this thread.

Don't jump when you eventually realise nobody gives a hoot.

I'm not jumping either way. Just curious. Thanks for your feedback.

I thought you jumped the other way?

I've never been to a meeting doubt I'd want to meet members in real life :w00t:

I've attended one -thanks to bkkjames- ...

The main thing that I remember, is that I woke up in a taxi somewhere around Ayuttayah...

The function was at the Landmark, on Sukhumvit... and my house being in Nonthaburi: I still have no idea how I ended there. :burp:

We don't talk about you, but we are watching you, along with the voices in your head.

Seriously though, what you should do is go and find out; make up a t-shirt that says - "I am Jingthing in case you didn't know' and see if you get any approaches. (actually that doesn't sound serious at all)

Hadn't heard of you until this thread, (though I do recognise your avatar) but I will remember now. Good ploy, now everyone knows about you, why didn't I think of that?

I won't be doing that thing with the t-shirt as I am quite shy, but thanks for your input.

Voices in my head? How did you ever know? Bless your heart!

Tell you what, if you did want to combat shyness doing something like that will help you get out your comfort zone. I'm a bit of a shy person too; have stages, sometimes I am, sometimes I'm not.

I try to think of being shy as being selfish because you're focusing on yourself while socialising and not on the other people, which is what people should do. I try to think this way and it does make me less shy when I'm out - focus elsewhere, not on yourself.

I'm pretty sure that I rode on a baht-bus with Jingthing one time in Pattaya, but I was afraid to ask the guy because I thought he might yell at me for thinking that every obviously gay guy on a baht-bus in Pattaya must be Jingthing.

Interesting, but I'm pretty sure you didn't, because I don't think I look like an obviously gay guy, if I get what someone like you would think that was.

Can't say I often talk in the "real world" about anyone on TV other than when something happens to one of them I guess - mentioned a few when discussing the musicians in CM (where I live) with a few of the musicians inviolved (some TV members) - other than that, the last time was way back a long time when ITManager was arrested (that was big news back then - TV was much smaller then).

However, there are people here that I recognise by their moniker (and have some idea as to their ideologies and the quality of their posts) and you are one on that list, so in some ways your are famous within my memories herein. Some posters I have learned to avoid, others to specifically read (i.e. avoid : regurgitators, air bags, trolls, flamers, repeaters and idiots - do not avoid: good arguements, interesting reading, novel idea, funny (within reason), wel thought out). I put you in the latter group, but I guess others would not - to each their own. I have never been a "supporter" - i.e. follow one camp/team/ideology/political party/etc - so like to read alternative views - most people that I do like to read (including your posts) I have both agreed and disagreed with - or even been indifferent to. On a forum, I believe this is the best (in)famy to have.

Carry on Ceasor: "Infamy! Inafamy! They've all got it in-for-me!"

I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but all I have to do is read your posts to know that you do not come off as being overly macho in real life. :jap:

You're not suggesting that UG deals in stereotypes, Jing?

OK, I would do that if someone prints 1000 of those shirts and people wear them around. Then there would still be the mystery. I like the mystery.
