phuketsub Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I would appreciate any advice anyone can give about non-slip finishes for ceramic tile flooring that are available in Phuket. The ceramic tiles in my new house are treacherous when wet...which is why I am typing this with a broken arm, bruised ribs and other injuries... I ideally I would like a clear, easy-to-apply finish...any advice on where to source, which brand to use, which to avoid etc, would be much appreciated... "grumpy old man"
phuketsub Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 Maybe here http://www.truevalue.co.th/location.php Thanks...it's surprising there isn't more info available on this topic given that slippery bathroom floors are right up there electric power poles when it comes to accidental deaths on this island...
katabeachbum Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Maybe here http://www.truevalue...th/location.php Thanks...it's surprising there isn't more info available on this topic given that slippery bathroom floors are right up there electric power poles when it comes to accidental deaths on this island... slippery = easy clean non slippery = hard to clean bathrooms I use semi slippery tiles, as it needs proper daily cleaning, and as rooms are small its easy to find something to hold on to pool deck more difficult, so non slippery tiles, but hard to keep clean Cotto is my favourit
steelepulse Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Not the cheapest option, but burned granite is something that looks good and is functional.
BuckarooBanzai Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Sorry that it sounds like it is a little late for you but most select the tiles for the area of use. There are some absolutely beautiful high friction tiles for outside areas and medium friction for bathroom areas and the like wherever water can be expected. I know this does not go towards answering your question but it is a heads up for those in the tile selection process. Smooth wet tiles can be like ice as you clearly indicate you have found out the hard way. Sorry for your mishap but let it serve as a warning to others.
