im looking fr somewhere in Patong that does certified translations. I thought it would be pretty easy but I've been to two law offices that had "translation service" on their window an they both said they just translate they don't certify. If I use one of these offices will the translation not be accepted? Anyway, does anyone know of an office in te Patong area that does this?

I have used a translation office on Mae Luan Rd for documents that were accepted for a Thai court case. That the road coming from Central into Phuket Town, fork left at light heading for Phuket Mayor's Office/Phuket Prison, and this translation office is on the left about 20m before the first set of lights (left turn at lights takes you to Rang Hill).

Thanks guys, I ended up using one one the ground floor of the VFS building. They had a sign outside, "translations from 50฿". We went inside and the minimum fee was the ID card at 200฿. I asked her what is smaller than an ID card (sarcasm lost), and what I could get done for 50฿, she said the sign was old and out of date, but could do the ID card for 100฿. All up, ID card, university degree (big a#%^ piece if paper), and letter from her amphur re birth certificate - we got the lot for 1500฿.

I asked the three shops in there fir a full page translation, and they all came back with 600฿, and no one wanted to do the university document. So that went to 800฿. And when finished, yeah, she sends it straight up to the VFS, so worked out well.
