Champions League And Europa League

Featured Replies

UEFA announced today that True Visions has been awarded all media rights in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos for the 2012-15 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

Pay-television platform True Visions will exploit the rights across its family of channels. In Thailand football fans will be able to watch every single UEFA Champions League match live. In Laos and Cambodia, supporters will be able to see at least two live games per matchweek.

In addition, True Visions' channels will provide live coverage of eight matches per matchweek of the UEFA Europa League in Thailand while a minimum of two live games will be available to viewers in Laos and Cambodia.

Great info alfie - cheers.........uptheo's (you know it makes sense) thumbsup.gif

Have they burned White Hart Lane down yet. sad.gif

So does that mean no Champions League on channel 3 or 7 this coming season?

Just a guess, but if True have been awarded all media rights in Thailand then I would think that excludes channel 3 or 7, unless they purchase it from True.

A note on the UEFA webpage annoucing this info

"UEFA would like to thank the current UEFA Champions League rights holders – Channel 3 and Channel 7 in Thailand, and CTN Cambodia in Cambodia – for their valued contribution to the competition."

Does this imply that they will no longer be showing the matches? And does this contract start this season (2011) or next (2012) ?

News on the 2012 Euro competition coverage. Seems that we will be stuck with That TV coverage again.

UEFA announced today that GMM Grammy, a leading media and entertainment group in Thailand, has been awarded exclusive media rights for UEFA EURO 2012. The deal also includes media rights for the 2011 and 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championships and UEFA Women's EURO 2013.

GMM Grammy will broadcast live all 31 matches from UEFA EURO 2012 on its own satellite channel and leading terrestrial channels in Thailand.

Looking at the press release i think it could be the start of next years competition 12-15 also True have not really marketed it very much if it is starting this season.

But with True who knows, maybe they will soon!
