I am about to send my renewal passport application to HK along with my daughters renewal too.

I have copies of both of our details page from our passports and 2 correctly sized pictures of us both.

Any other documents to be sent off?

We are both applying for renewals and my daughter is 5 years old.

For all passport applications you should submit:

  • a fully completed passport application form
  • 2 passport quality and size photographs and
  • the appropriate fee.

If you are renewing a passport you will need to send in your old passport.

Supporting documentation is not required for renewal of valid or recently expired passports. The exception is where you have naturalised or registered as a British Citizen; in this case we require a copy of your certificate of naturalisation or registration.

If your passport expired over 10 years ago your application will be treated as a first time application, otherwise it will be classed as "recently" expired and dealt with as a renewal.

it is a renewal for you, so just photos and copy of photo page of previous passport.

I sent the link last time to show you what was required, for your daughter if I remember correctly a countersignature

with proof of the British Citizenship of the Person who countersigned, plus the photos.

Also application for them means first time not renewals.

Yeah mate im getting flustered lol.

I guess the notes are for people applying first time. Im thinking clear now lol

Couldnt get a uk person to sign her photo as he was worried about putting his passport number due to him not have a teaching licence.

I got the thai principle to sign it at her school. It states if you cant get a british national a national of the country you are residing in is ok as long as they are of high standing.

Cheers anyway bud

:cheesy: Obviously not the brighest teacher in the school then, ....the form is going to Hong Kong, to a British consulate... somehow I don,t think they care.....

You dont need your birth certificate for a renewal, just a copy of your PP info page, photo's, form filled in and pay the money over.

If daughters is renewal same as you except photos/form need to be signed

Specific requirements from Thailand

ORIGINAL PASSPORT: Thailand is an exception to the main guidance given on our primary website. It is not advised to be without your original passport in Thailand and we recognise this. You may therefore submit a clear photocopy of your passport (just the page with your personal details and photograph). Please note that the passport being renewed will be electronically cancelled and is therefore not valid for use as a travel document from the moment you submit your application. On receipt of your new passport, you must physically cancel your old passport by cutting the corners of the photo page and the front and back covers. Failure to do so may leave your replaced passport open to abuse. Alternatively, you should visit the British Embassy in Bangkok to have your replaced passport physically cancelled.
