what a pretentious and snotty little thread :o

Ok my turn:

ah fuk it, I am not sharing with you, too confidential :D

Nobody would believe me :D

I interviewed Michael Parkinson (unfortunatley it wasn't the other way round).

and, and I saw John Cleese do his first silly walk in Dunraven Road, Shepherds Bush London. If you ever see it, I'm in the background-think I was about 12!!

What a pathetic little life I lead

That's basically my fault, sorry.

Hey, out with it - I promise to believe !

ThaiPauly I went to the same school as John Cleese did...he blames that place for his breakdown later in life and I can certainly believe it. What a place. I would love to meet him before he kicks the bucket. ..might even convince him to do the walk.

Why did you interview Parky?

Come on Will, out with it.........

If most of us Brits see him every day I'm going for a news reader/reporter. John Simpson perhaps.......?

I sat next to John Cleese at the Royal Opera House a few years ago - Madam Butterfly.

At the end he left swiftly before the lights came up,presumably fed up of idiots screaming 'BASIL' at him.

so...

John Humphreys ? ( I like him)

My 7th great-grandfather was a blacksmith who founded the town of Warrensburg, Missouri. And my great-grandfather worked on the Empire State building.

That's them though, me I have no connection to anything.

I am a decendent of a long line of people who managed not to get killed along the way. That says something. There's some luck and intelligence in the gene pool. I was born on the same date as my paternal grandfather and an uncle. (Please don't tell me that's unlucky.)

I am a direct descendant of adam, if you believe that sort of thing.

Or a monkey. Not sure.

I have pushed aside by michael Jackson, ascneded an elevator with eddie murphy, invited backstage to a roxette concert (claim to fame or not); Wesley SNipes and his kid and friend of his kid had a coffee at my table once, though we did not speak.

T.J.Hooker, Kirk, SHatner drove at high velocity in a large Jaguar and his mirror clipped my vespa and knocked me over.

Been winked at by Phil Collins, who may or may not have ben produced by my uncle when PC was singer of genesis, and an ex-gf sang to by Julio Iglesias. Oh, and I´ve been in a porn movie.

:o

Trust me... No kid should grow up a young nubile teenager in Monte-Carlo.

It reeks down there.

Edit: Nearly forgot... Made page three of the scottish Sun on febr. 4th 1995!

That (pure text) article made me grin a bit.

Why did you interview Parky?

When I had my business in the UK (Golfing Magazines) Parky was apponted President at the Oxfordshire Golf Club.

We were invted to interview him for the magazine. It was a bit short notice and neither of my Editors could go and they asked me if I could cover it.

I had never interviewed anyone in my life, and when I got there I was astounded that my Mag and Golf World had each been allocated 7 minutes with the man. All the rest of the National Media had 7 minutes between them, so I was quite chuffed.

Anyway I managed to bluster through it OK and never told him it was my first attempt, he is a good guy.

My Father ran off with Darth Vader's ex-girlfriend.

Which (if true) has to be the coolest Big Deal on the thread.

As buadthai probably knows you can be directly descended but not carry the name. I think William the Conquerer is far greater a claim to fame!

Yeah, our surname used to be "Conqueror", but we changed it to "Newman" when we were released from indentured servitude....

I've had a couple of beers with Bronco... does that count?

:o

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

poor poor poor bronco...

:o

Real name "Shane Fenton" i think

Born Bernard Jewry actually............changed his name twice. I used to go with a lass who adored him . :o

bah - was about to write that one.

I shagged a girl whose grandmother was engaged to George Formby.

I snogged a close relative of Paul McCartney

my mother used to kick Robert Plant and jimmy page out of the pub my father was runing, becuase they never had any cash and would scrounge drinks off everyone

I met Paul Daniels and know his cousin who is a monk in thailand (who also used to be the bodyguard for Roy Chubby Brown)

The philosophy correspondent of the Sun?

You must remember, the one who wrote” Why I prefer Wanking to Wittgenstein – an in-depth exposé”. 87 words of tortured Philosophical Investigation, ending with that never to be forgotten conclusion:

“1.3 It does make you blind – I know!”

The philosophy correspondent of the Sun?

No, Tommy, Pauline never told you but...but...

I missed you Daddy! :o

Well i never knew that. He should have stuck with his first one, me thinks :D

From the movie : Anchorman

Do you know who I am?

No, I can't say that I do.

I don't know how to put this, but I'm kind of a big deal.

Really?

People know me.

I've very happy for you.

I'm very important. I have...many leather-bound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Which (if true) has to be the coolest Big Deal on the thread

The actor, not the real Darth Vader, who died a long time ago in a galaxy far away.

What's your big deal?

JFK had his brain box air conditioned on my birthday.

(The scary part was that at the time, we were living on a SAC base a stone's throw from Havana. Pretty crazy time.)

...mmmm - perhaps time for a "what were you doing on the 22nd" thread?

That'll sort the boys from the men.

I was planning a ... better not say... I could get killed.
