Airport Taxi

Featured Replies

Coming to phuket in september,,not been down there for a few years,,just wondering whats the going rate for a taxi from the airport to patong area?? would about 500-600bt cover it

many thanks

4 days ago it cost me 500 baht.........just tell the driver thats the deal before you go anywhere, then everyones happy:)

Firstly, we gotta know where you are going... Now I'm a frequent used of "meter taxi" at HKT and the stand is useless as the Taxi Mafia has invaded..... Have you considered the Hotel car at there is no AOT service here. Now lets get these folks a good price quote and let them work from there. It really depends on the day etc. Unregirtered Taxis ( black taxis as in a normal black lic plate) often lurk looking for a fee to drive back. The get 8oo or so up and will take less goin back south!

OK, boardies.. when we get a local ring in with you thoughts. Who know mabey a taxi driver lurks here??

The standard Limousine (Altis) was in July 500THB and the Camry 600THB from Airport to Samkong (Town), Patong, Karon, and Kata probably higher.

We caught a metered taxi from the airport to Chalong circle in February

The fare came to 430 baht including the 100 baht airport desk charge

Patong should be about the same

Count on 500 Baht, since the meter taxi's don't use the meter anymore.

If you want a bigger car (Camry) take one of the airport limousine cars, should be 600 Baht to Patong.

Oh, and PatongPete, if somebody writes 'Patong' you can presume they want to go to Patong.

Since when have the metered taxis stopped using there meters

When we use one i always tell them to use the meter and they always have

I always tip them because the fare is very reasonable

The only time i have had taxis refuse to use the meter is in Bangkok and i will not use those taxis

there are plenty of other taxis who will run on the meter

They are talking about putting meters in Tuk Tuks

It will never happen if the metered taxis have stopped using there meters

Does Thailand have laws like other countries about meters

In Bangkok i think they are legally obliged to use them

Of coarse Phuket is not Bangkok they make there own rules
