Can anyone suggest decent place to go and play pool where the no smoking rules are actually observed. Anywhere along the Sukhumvit corridor out as far as BangNa or along Udom Suk?

Drinks, food too, or nearby, would be useful.

What about Hustlers, at the basement of the Time Square building (around Suk 14). Its a nice place for pool, and you are only allowed to smoke outside. The food is okay, and the have a pretty good selection of drinks.

The air conditioned places usually don't allow smoking inside.

Sports Academy gets my vote. Hustlers is ok but gets its fair share of tourists. Sportsman (off soi 22) is good but smoky. The only one to stay well away from is Players bar which is just downright nasty.

I was there many months ago and someone starting smoking inside and I asked the waitress if they now allowed smoking since I was about to order food and didn't want to eat in a smelly smoke filled room. She said the person smoking was the owner and that he does it all the time so I didn't bother ordering anything and have not been back since.

Thanks for the replies so far. I'll stick a nose in Hustler's and Sports Academy as I pass near Asoke regularly.

We all know the law and observance of the law are very different things. A Pool fanatic friend took me to Swan bar on Soi 4 which was thick with smoke despite the obligatory signs. After a couple of hours in there, I was sick the rest of the night.

There's a new place on Soi 7, opposite smokey New Wave, which had no other customers a few weeks ago and of course Gulliver's is cleanish but noisey.
