I dont remember that exact ad for the Nana but I first stayed there in 1968. They used to serve you a small glass of Coke when you checked in.

The coffee shop (along with the Grace Hotel) quickly became an after hours hangout but rooms at The Golden Palace (motel type lowrise) on Soi 1 were cheaper and they had rooms on the pool if that was to your liking. I really do not remember any hotel in this class having a difference in price for single/double however.

I like the 'old' Nana hotel and still stay there several times a year.

Most of the cashier / reception staff must have been in place at the opening,

Simon

Stayed there in 1968 for several days before going upcountrycompliments of USA.

The old Grace Hotel,I remember when a bit of ceiling fell into a guy standing at the bar.

Amazingly ,Kuoni (UK) used to sell rooms,in their brochure,as a "Nightime Special" Hotel

The term used when folks noted I checked into Grace in 1968 was 'co-ed' hotel.
