Kitesurfing

Featured Replies

I'm planning on coming to Samui in November and to do a bit of Kitesurfing while I'm there . I'm sort of beginner intermediate. The last time I tried Kitesurfing in Thailand was in Phuket and it was a waste of time. I would be grateful for any advice about wind, schools, equipment hire etc.

It would be perfect right now... lots of wind ...

Surfers out near Nanthon lately... that I have seen, perhaps other areas too???......in November you might get wet from rain :D ... as already pointed out....

There is a group (French I think) who do a circuit of Asia.... following the winds... they usually hit Koh Phengan in January... and may be on south or north side of the island... depending on wind conditions....on the windy days....

If you've not booked ticket, I'd consider changing dates, so you won't be disapointed, as you were in Phuket.

There is a Wind surfers shop, in the Nanthon area, (towards Maenam)... I don't have a web address, but you may find on a Google search.... they might be able to advise as to best times.... on Samui....but then, weather never 100% predictable... ;)

Thanks for the reply,I think I'll leave it to January

Good choice, the winds have died down since last post! Calms seas at the moment...

Mind you not every day in January, will give you perfect conditions, but better chance than in November.... me thinks! :jap:
