Thank you for the poster calling moderators a bunch of crooks or insinuating they could be.

Before all you conspiracy theorists start , I will ask you to look at the company hosting that site & what other companies fall under their umbrella . Perhaps you can then deduct where all the Samui information come from.

Most of the members on here are subscribed to something or rather on this island, being an airline, a restaurant, bar loyalty cards, shops, hospitals. So it will not take a genius to find out which company hosts most of these outlets & perhaps where all this info is coming from.

how dangerous are these spams?

Apparently they can be more dangerous than high background radiation.

Whilst a tin-foil hat may protect oneself from real or imaginary high rad exposure, apparently nothing known to man can stop unsolicited spam from jumping out the screen and affect one's life to the point one needs to post all about it.

Of course, there are people out there who claim that is what email spam filters are made for, but can one really trust this technology to keep us safe and warm?

I would not trust any company not to sell data or have there system compromised. The biggest companies in the world can be hacked and what is Thai visa.

so , in theory, if thaivisa's system was compromised, why hasnt everyone been targeted with this email ? , it appears only SAMUI based members are receiving these emails, which would show the email addresses have been supplied by a samui cmpany, but which one is the question

there will be a connection between the members if you look closely, IE they would have all possibly used the service of a samui company without realising there info was passed on

I think only SOME Samui based members.

I am Samui based and I use a 'shadow' email account for everything except personal/business emails. I have not received any spam on this shadow account recently. The last one that I received was in September for the usual "pexis enlargement". (Why don't I get the viagra ones? :whistling:)

Nothing on my business account email address (used regularly in Samui).

Pretty well business as usual from my end. Sorry that I cannot be more helpful.

I love the "It was ThaiVisa and couldn't have been anyone else" <deleted> to be honest. Funny how none of the regular posters here received anything isn't it?

Just the usual disgruntled ex/banned/grumpy crowd of Samui......biggrin.gif

The OP is a returned banned member. His post is either a very clever way of advertising this business or a malicious attempt towards Thaivisa's integrity, Either way he has been banned again .

I will again stress the point, look at your email if you received one & note the host company.

If anyone still has the ACTUAL email, please forward to my email address, we will soon tell you where & how it originated.
