October 11, 201114 yr I'm looking to buy a 7" Android and would like some advice on the best model and costs for such. Below are the main functions I would need: - Phone and email - USB port, so I can save files from a computer then send them as attachments. - Downloading PDF files. - PDF reader
October 11, 201114 yr I think the only option you have for those specs in Thailand is the HTC flyer. Be careful of the 3g specs though, might not support 850 spectrum. Theres also the original Galaxy tab but I dont think it has a standard usb port. http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_flyer-3829.php
October 11, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the help. Seems I'm looking at a pretty high end machine. Is it the USB port that is pushing up the price? What are other options for importing files?
October 11, 201114 yr Samsung tab 7. does 900mhz so AIS connection for 2G/3G. has usb 2.0 and proven product 14.990b http://www.gsmarena....xy_tab-3370.php Or if you have a phone that you can wifi tether to then the the samsung tab 7 wifi (no 2g/3g) 8,990b at some tesco lotus stores. http://www.gsmarena...._wi_fi-3919.php mind you if you can wait this would be the dogs...... http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_p8600_galaxy_tab_7_7-4136.php

Wouldn't this work?
October 11, 201114 yr You can still import files via USB (it just has a non-standard port, which means you have to use the cable they supply). The Galaxy tab comes in WIFI and 3G variations. Last time I looked the 3G one was 14,000 baht, maybe it will have dropped a bit now the 10.1 is here.

Wouldn't this work? It would on the 14,xxxb unit but not on the one shown as that is wifi only. What phone do you have now and what network? I find that i carry my phone with me which is android and capable of wifi tethering (turning the phone into a 2g/3g wifi hotspot) so i intend saving the money and just getting the wifi only tab.

The internet speed is adequate, but typing and reading on the small screen is frustrating. I'm away several days a week and need to answer emails. There's no land line or wi-fi facilities, so the Andriod seems the best option. I thought there was a model for around 7k which you could just insert the SIM and use for phone and internet?
October 12, 201114 yr Author It sounds like you need a 10,000 baht net book rather than a tablet. That may be OK, but I'm not familiar with the models. I like the 7" because of it's size, it can be held in one hand, used on the train, car etc.
October 12, 201114 yr Seems like the older Samsung 7" tabs are ~ 9000 for WiFi and 13,500 for 3G? http://www.thaimobilecenter.com/spec/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_Wi-Fi_P1010.asp WiFi only http://www.thaimobilecenter.com/spec/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_P1000T.asp DTAC/Truemove H/TOT http://www.thaimobilecenter.com/spec/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_P1000.asp AIS/TOT
