Chiang Mai - Mae Sai Green Bus, Quick Q

Featured Replies

I was just curious if these bus's have bathrooms? I sometimes get sick on road trips and would like to have one near by.

Yes, The green bus has a bathroom in the back, and it stops in Chiang Rai for about a 5 minute break.

You can reserve a seat at the back if you wish, but it's 4 across there, but sometimes 3 across at the front. Depends on the bus. The toilet is quite good as bus toilets go. Think you should take your own paper, as I didn't see any. There is tap water though.

you can reserve any seat you want if you book weeks in advance !

for me its always 1A the best seat on the bus : )

I sometimes have the motion sickness thing too, so I completely understand. I find that if I keep cool - which usually isn't that hard to do on these bus trips - then that helps me from getting nauseous. There are also anti-nausea pills you can buy at any pharmacy. If you want to go the natural route, a little chunk of fresh ginger before you head out is really a powerful way to prevent the road sickness. I love the idea of natural remedies and understand most don't work the way a drug does, ie fast and effectively, but ginger really does. It's crazy how well it works! Check it out online if you like. The upshot of taking a pill on the bus trip, however, is that it's gonna make you drowsy and help pass the time much more quickly. All up to you...
