PAD Leader Raps PM over Flood Crisis

Leader of the People's Alliance for Democracy, Sondhi Limthongkul commented that it is unfortunate that Thailand is currently under the leadership of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, who he said is merely a puppet and incompetent in flood management.

Leader of the People's Alliance for Democracy, Sondhi Limthongkul commented on the flood management, as carried out by the government, led by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, saying that he sympathizes with Yingluck who must be at her wit's end due to her limited intelligence.

Sondhi also said that Thailand is very unfortunate to be under the leadership of Yingluck, who is merely a puppet and incompetent.

The PAD leader also remarked that he is not surprised that the National Police Committee has decided to appoint Police General Priewpan Damapong as the new police chief because he was hand chosen by the ruling Pheu Thai Party and has the seniority to hold the position.

Today at the Appeals Court, Sondhi attended a hearing concerning a defamation case in which he is the defendant.

In 2006, the PAD leader allegedly defamed then Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra by accusing him of buying votes.

The court has postponed the verdict hearing to November 29 as the plaintiff has yet to be summoned.

The lower court sentenced Sondhi to three years of imprisonment without probation.

four stories in a one short article, the title is misleading - should be "sondhi goes to prison, but before that try to offend the pm, so he can double his sentence"

"Limited intelligence"... wow, pot meet kettle. This coming from a guy who instigated an act of terrorism on Thailand by holding the airport hostage until he got what he wanted. That's rich.

I don't like Sondhi but that about sums up the whole situation. I don't doubt Yingluck is working hard and doing her best to control this crisis but unfortunately she just doesn't have the brains nor the ability to do so.

Are they expecting Thaksin to be summonsed by then? They should have postponed until January.

Sondhi

Can't he just plug a leaking sewer somewhere by sticking his head in it?

Now, that would be a service to the nation.

TAN is also linked to (belongs to ? ) Sondhi. What do you expect ?

Sondhi is a crook and a failed businessman. ASTV, the jewel of Sondhis empire, can't pay its debts and was forced off the air a few days ago. Sondhi is again condemned for defamation.

And that's this guy the hero of the yellow brigades ?

He goes to jail for 3 years ? It's a bit too early to rejoice but if it's confirmed I say good riddance !

Everything you just said more or less applies to Thaksin as well. Colored heroes are so heroic.

3 years for telling Thaksin did vote buying (and everyone knows about the vote buying)?

You have an interesting idea about the use of law. Would fit perfect to North Korea.

Well Sondhi made mistakes with HIS money, while Thaksin is using Thailands money.

that makes a big difference.

Reminds me of the US Republicans blaming Obama for the financial and war mess they created that takes some time to repair.

terrorism is used far too easily since 9/11. Protests, wherever they are, are not terrorism.

The way I understood it was they should have postponed until p.m. on Dec 5th of this year and then each and every year thereafter. That way the convicted criminal flys into Bangkok in the a.m, gets collected by the BiB, and is taken back to the Royal Thai Police Club where he is surrounded by the cops (under detention of an authority) for a 5 minute gin and tonic and is then released under the Democrats "over 60's with less than three years sentence and in dentention on the 5th Dec" rewrite of Section 4, with his sisters signature of release. But then the convicted criminal has to assess if he will be safe coming back into Thailand this 5th December and that one would suspect will be playing on his mind given the treatment his general Say Dung was given. Perhaps by November 29 Yingluck will have "advised" the courts what is happening and these magistrates will be awaiting her further instruction on what their decision will be.

You need a lot more than intelligence to be an effective national leader. I don't see that Yingluck possesses ANY of the qualities needed. How can she possibly last the full term?

You mean the money k. Thaksin 'earned' while still in office, or what may have been in the planeload of suitcases when he and his then wife last left the country to watch the Olympics?

May be this is just a reference to k. Thaksin shopping at Louis Vutton in Paris with his daughters ?

Anyway lots of people seem to rap PM Yingluck over the flood crisis. Personally I get a wee bit annoyed when I hear about "hardly a meter of water", "just for a while", "no need to panic". All that water is not the PM's fault, lack of planning over the last decades is not the PM's fault. The haphazard way of reacting, almost hilarious and certainly contradicting statements, daily flip-flopping, now for that I do blame the present government and it's leader the PM :ermm:

He evaded paying tax. That's stealing Thailand's money.

no, that's tax evasion

what he did is called tax avoidance

tax evasion is stealing, tax avoidance is disrespectful, sneaky and underhanded, yes, but it's not 'stealing thailands money'

i'm not sure if there's meant to be an answer in there but i am already aware that he's rich, if that's what you were clearing up for me

When you abuse your office to change the tax law so that you can avoid paying billions of baht in taxes, that's theft. What truly amuses me is that there are still people around trying to minimise Thaksin's crimes by simply calling it disrepectful, sneaky and underhanded.

well you see, i'm not trying to 'minimise Thaksin's crimes'... i'm pointing out that it wasn't actually a crime but a nasty thing to do.

It was a crime. And it's obvious you're a Red supporter because only those morons could go around saying someone abusing their office in order to steal billions is not committing a crime. But it's a nasty thing to do!
