Chiang Mai: Free rent for grabs in exchange for taming neighbour
A Chiang Mai homeowner is taking drastic measures to settle a neighbourhood feud by offering three months of rent-free living to anyone willing to stand up to a particularly “mad” bully next door. Saranya, known only by her Facebook handle, made the unusual offer on a local community page, ดอยสะเก็ดเด็ดทุกอย่าง Doi Saket Ded Took Yang (all is good at Doi Saket). In her bold post yesterday, November 13, she promised free rent for three months in her single-detached home in Doi Saket district, with a single condition: the tenant must be ready to unleash “sharp abusive words like a machine gun” at the troublesome neighbour if provoked. The post included details of the deal: after the initial rent-free period, the tenant would only pay a modest 4,000 baht deposit, and monthly rent payments would begin from the fourth month onwards. Saranya sweetened the offer further by covering electricity costs under 300 baht per month and providing free water, as the house has access to an underground well. “It’s easy,” Saranya wrote in her now-deleted post. “You should be able to cope with a mad neighbour and have the skill of firing sharp abusive words like a machine gun if you’re harassed.” Accompanying photos showed the modest one-storey house, surrounded by a concrete wall with neighbours on three sides. Though she didn’t identify the specific “problem neighbour,” the post attracted plenty of attention and comments, with locals intrigued by the unconventional rental offer. By today, however, the post had mysteriously disappeared, leaving some wondering whether anyone had taken up the unusual offer—or if the neighbourhood feud had escalated even further, reported The Nation. This automatic check in is beatiful, but... You still have to check in your luggage and there will be the congestion. I did it in Brussels and the waiting time was longer for the people who checked in automaticaly then the ones who did the classic check in. -

Thai netizens and a local news Facebook page criticised foreign tourists for their inappropriate behaviour on baht buses and tuk tuks in Phuket, expressing concerns over the safety of both the tourists themselves and other motorists. The Phuket Times shared photos of foreigners on public transport in two separate posts yesterday, November 13. The images sparked safety concerns among Thai social media users and raised criticism of police for perceived inaction. In the first post, two foreign men dressed in revealing attire were seen dancing on a red baht bus. The bus was stationary due to a traffic jam on Thaweewong Road, outside the Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort. One of the men was seen standing and dancing on the footboard of the vehicle, while another projected himself out of the bus window. In another post, a foreign man and woman were shown leaning out of a red and yellow tuk-tuk while it was stuck in traffic. Their friends could be seen cheering them on, enjoying the risky behaviour together. The news page captioned the images, stating, “Warnings often come only after accidents! This is very dangerous. Please warn them. Sometimes, foreign tourists are overly excited.” One commenter noted that the men in the first post attended a friend’s wedding and were celebrating. However, others responded, saying that the issue was not about the party but rather about safety concerns. Other netizens commented on the drama. “If they fall from the vehicle, the driver will have to take responsibility.” “I’ve only lived in Phuket for a year, but this has become a normal day here.” “Let them do what they want. Our rescue team is ready!” “Warnings won’t work. They won’t listen anyway.” “Drivers let them do anything because they have money.” As of now, there is no update from the local Phuket government officials and the police have not made any statements regarding the matter. Minivan border runs to Cambodia still works?
Hi I need a few more weeks to prepare documents for a new visa. Can you still do visa border runs from Bangkok to Cambodia and have it all done in 12 hours and get 60 days? I saw a post on reddit that you couldn’t do that in Laos as effectively anymore as you had to spend 2 days waiting in Laos. Any recommendation on which company to use is welcome too. Perhaps a company with nice buses instead of minivans. -

Car recommendations
Two years with our Veloz next month. The jump seats (6th and 7th passengers get used once a month or so). Appreciate the isofix latching for up to two child car seats and the side airbags for rear seat passengers. Dislike the aerodynamics that collect dust on the rear window up here in the northeast, may not be an issue where you live. The Veloz replaced a Chevrolet Spin which was orphaned by Chevrolet leaving the SE Asia markets. When I received my LTR visa my ThB 800k retirement visa account We looked at other alternatives and settled on the Veloz. Did not consider any Chinese EVs, but if we were looking today we would consider a Yaris Cross HEV.- 2
