Laid back school in the small town where I live approached me about looking for a teacher. Apparently one just took off for a woman in Isaan.

No burnouts or drunks please. Bachelor degree preferred. Salary is 25k per month worked. There is no room for upping it, so please be prepared to accept this salary if coming for an interview. Attach resume/CV and contact info to thaivisa PM if interested.

This was posted in jobs, but still haven't filled the position. Thought maybe someone reading this forum might know someone currently looking.

Maybe adding some detail to entice the possible applicant? I don't think the distance nor salary are really head turners for the CM teaching crowd. I think they get more from the local "language schools". Is there a visa/WP, insurances, paid vacation, etc, etc, etc? Maybe a little bit more about the location and its offerings?

And exactly what do they expect the teacher to do -- ie. age of the students, subjects to be taught (I'm assuming Englsh, but maybe it's chemistry or physics!), work hours, etc, etc.

The salary and location aren't exactly something to stimulate a move from Chiang Mai, which may be why they include the warning about "no burnouts or drunks". That may be all they can attract with their location/salary/working conditions.

Can one even stay drunk on 25k/mo ? I'm doubtful.

High quality Lao Kao at 70 B per bottle, two bottles a day would be less than 7k Baht a month. Easy! On SangSom 2 bottles a day would only be 12000 Baht a month. Easy!

If it's a government primary school or high school, the Thai government now requires a teacher's certificate (obtained in Thailand or teacher's home country). That's a big deal. Does this school require it? By stating this, you will weed out a lot of inquiries and save everyone's time.

Sorry, no ads in the regular forums, However the teaching forum has a more relaxed policy for schools looking for teachers so I will move it there.
