Just saw a pickup today, think it was a 2 door isuzi. Made this unusual whistling sound. I've heard that a few times before on other pickups - often accompanied by lots of smoke!. It seemed to have been modified - going by the 'ecu shop' sticker on the window. Any idea what causes the whistle - he wasn't going fast either and think it was a diesel, not a transplant of a petrol engine. Any ideas?

many pickups have a whistler installed behind the grill.

I once asked my ex wifes family, who transport coconuts in a number of pickups, why they have this, just for fun and for not falling asleep while driving

in addition there could be engine mods, like removing cat which increases turbo whine, and whistler in end exhaust can

I think you may have run over a security guard on the way out of the car park. Often they get tangled in the transmission. Check around the axles and in the wheel arches. When you find him confiscate his whistle, that should quieten things down.

PS:

... and take his cigarettes away too.

I must confess a serious transgression.......... I said 10 "Hail Marys" and 10 "Our Fathers" but I still don't feel better. sad.gif Last week I was trying to back into a very difficult parking space at one of the big department stores. The parking attendant kept blowing his whistle and would not stop. I don't mean blowing the whistle in any helpful manner it was one continuous stream of loud piercing loosing my mind please stop so I can think sound.........

I stopped my car in the middle of everything and asked the man to please stop so I can concentrate. BUT what I planned to say did not come out just right. My wife said it came out as "STOP BLOWING THAT STUPID WHISTLE!!!" After we finished shopping I apologized to the man and gave him a 50 Baht tip.

I know this would never happen to anyone else because all of you are more reserved whistling.gif
