BANGCHAK REDUCES THE PRICE OF OCTANE-91 GASOHOL BY 20 SATANG A LITRE AS NEW YEAR’S GIFT

The Bangchak (บางจาก) Petroleum Public Company Limited has announced a reduction in the price of its octane-91 gasohol by 20 satang a litre for a period of three months ending mid-February 2006.

President of the company Anusorn Sangnimnuan (อนุสรณ์ แสงนิ่มนวล) says Bangchak is a state enterprise and is determined to promote its roles in encouraging alternative energy among the public. The company has begun selling gasohol 95 since 2001, which proves to be increasingly popular.

The company has plans to further encourage the use of gasohol 91 in place of gasoline octane 91, which is currently taking up to 60 percent of the overall stake in the domestic oil market.

Mr. Anusorn indicates that the reduction in the price of gasohol 91, which is effective immediately, is also intended to be a New Year’s gift for motorists. As a result of the reduction, gasohol 91 is currently two baht cheaper than octane-95 petrol and one baht and 20 satang cheaper than octane 91 petrol.

He reiterates that the project ensures the public of good-quality fuel at low prices and will lower the country's trade deficits.
