Looking For An Opportunity To Support Orphanage

Featured Replies

We run programs for volunteers to come to Thailand and work with orphan children. We provide financial and hands on help. I am in Chiang Mai for three days from the 26/11/2011. Can anyone help me find an orphanage we can assist?

Appreciate any help.Fatso

I have information for you, but we should talk first. I am only in town tomorrow though. I will send you a PM with my number.

I would suggest you scroll back through a few pages of threads in this (chiangmai) sub-forum ... there was a thread a few weeks back on the same subject and it generated many useful and detailed responses

PS: I just had a quick look using TV forum search on "charity" and there are several threads including: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/491217-kids-charities-in-chiang-mai/page__st__25__p__4674338__hl__charity__fromsearch__1#entry4674338

Hi Fatso, how nice to see a helping hand :-) as you just joined yesterday, could you confirm

- what is the name of the organisation you represent

- web address of organisation

- what country you come from

- whether you have orphans in your own country that might be more easily attended to

- do you know that Thai kids in need rarely speak English - do you speak their language(s)

- why did you chose Thailand to grace with your charity

- is your charity 'free' or does it come at the behest of Jesus himself?

Thanks so much.

Hey Fatso, given the info you want from the forum, I'm surprised you have nothing to say about yourself or your "organisation" (actually that was rhetorical, I'm not surprised at all).

Thank you to everyone that has offered advice and direction, and particularly to Keith. We have struck up a great relationship with some wonderful local people and we will be working with them in the future. There are so many great people in this town! Thank-you all.Fatso.

In that case why be shy in telling the forum about yourselves :-)

When you say 'local people' do you mean falang missionaries or Thai citizens?
