melsnet Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Thai teenager Kittiphong Pluemjai has been offered a trial stint by Leicester City. The 18 year-old is currently on the books of Norwegian outfit SK Brann but will spend up to ten days training with City's reserve squad beginning next week. Leicester boss Nigel Pearson will cast an eye over Pluemjai before deciding whether or not to pursue his interest in the youngster "This is an interesting opportunity for me. I'll be training with Leicester's reserve team for a week or two," Pluemjai told bt.no. "I'm excited to show what I can do." City are owned by Thai duty-free tycoon Vichai Raksriaksorn and the East Midlands club have a huge following in the South East Asian country. Raksriaksorn is a strong proponent of developing Asian talent at the club and he will be hoping Pluemjai has the talent to earn a contract at the King Power Stadium. http://www.skysports...7342498,00.html
bangkok blue Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Nice to see City giving a trial to a Thai youngster... Can only help the Thai national team in the future by giving young players experience at English clubs with a more professional approach to the game.
rgs2001uk Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 "the East Midlands club have a huge following in the South East Asian country" Who writes this crap? Anyone remember whatever happened to the Thai Zico/Zidane or whatever his name was? Think he was at some team like Huddersfiled about 10 years ago.
