December 1, 201114 yr Police Crack Down on Drug-Trafficking Ring in South The Provincial Police Region 8 has arrested a drug-dealing gang and seized amphetamine pills and hard weapons. The officers are investigating the case whether the gang is involved in the southern insurgency. Region 8 Police Commander, Police Lieutenant General Santi Pensood announced the arrest of a drug-trafficking gang, including 25-year-old Jaknarin Jantkomon, and 29-year-old Sarawut Samart who were caught with 3,000 amphetamine pills, 34 grams of the drug ice, one HK long gun, one .357 short gun, and ammunition. In addition, the officers seized one frequency radio that belonged to the Muang Surat police station, a BMW and a Honda Accord, and one ISUZU pickup truck. Both suspects were arrested after the officers of Surat Thani Province lured the dealers on Karnjanawithi Road at Bang Koong Sub-district of Surat Thani District. The officers searched the home of Jaknarin on Karnjanawithi Road, and found drugs and assault weapons. Two more suspects, Wuttipong Chitcheu, and Mar are on the run after they fired the guns at police.
