I am totally p#ssed off with HSBC's Offshore banking service.

They cannot seem to perform the most simple of tasks, like messing up standing orders nearly EVERY week,ie this week it appears that the cheque book I had ordered had not in fact been ordered by them (mix up between Hong Kong and Jersey) plus as I needed to get some money to one of my Sons for his Xmas present they paid the money to his LANDLORD at his University ! Pus their interest rates are very low at 3.795 % for a 30 day notice account.

Has anyone had any better experieces to relay regarding other institutions that are efficient and pay more interest.

I would be grateful for any positive feedback

Hi Thai Pauly.

For regular banking with cheque books, cards, internet banking, phone bank etc

LloydsTSB Jersey Offshore. Been with all the big C.I. banks over

many years and have stuck with this one. VERY personal service, none of that, press 1 for this 2 for that carp.

you are provided with the name, phone/fax and email of your Personal Contact

at the bank. Very unusual these days but this service is provided

at the cost of slightly lower interest rates ... but see below, two accounts may be the answer !

For longer term investment only, say 3 month fixed term, 12 month fixed etc.

Irish Nationwide Isle of Man. They are part of the I.N. building society.

No basic banking services but they provide the best rates of the bigger

outfits. They provide the best rates because they do not provide

the nitty gritty (expensive for them) services.

As of Jan 1st 2006, if you don't have GBP5000 in your accounts with them, you'll be paying 15 quid a month bank charges....
