Hi,

I spent about a half an hour searching for answers to each of these topics before giving up.

My check-in date in 1/1/2012 plus or minus one week. Due to the fact that everything is closed up to/including Tues. 3 Jan. that gives me tomorrow (Fri. 30 Dec.) and Jan 4-7 Wed thru Sat. morning - correct?

So I don't have any nasty surprises could someone post or provide a link to the latest yearly check-in requirements?

I've already seasoned the money in an account since before the last 90 day report. I think that I will need an extension form, which I don't have a link to (I was planning on getting one at immigration on check-in day}. So, I need a letter from my bank, and copies of my bank book? I've also changed address from Samui to BKK. Am I correct in assuming I need a letter from my landlord, or a copy of the house papers? Plus 2 photos? ฿1,900 for fees, and passport copies - main page plus visa page? Entry stamp? Anything else?

I've found a map of the new immigration office, but will be driving, and can't find directions - other than "take a taxi". I'm not too familiar with that area - just drove to Muang and Chatuchak years ago.

Thanks,

Perhaps if you advise where you are people could help with directions better - the main thing to remember is next to CAT compound is the soi 7 and you go to the end and immigration is in the huge building. Turn right to the South entrance and it is just inside the doors to the right.

You should have one photo and one TM.7 for extension and one TM.47 for 90 day reporting (different queues and offices).

Copies of passport data and original visa and all extensions and the departure card. Copies of bank passbook pages. Letter from bank and they may want it that day (there are branch banks on ground floor that can provide - at the least they will want a transaction in passbook that day to confirm previous day letter). Suspect they will need proof of address also but do not believe they are demanding on what it is.

Well, sorry about that. I didn't include that info because it would have made it a longer post. I temporarily have two locations - due to moving from Samui and the after effects of the flood, I have a residence I haven't been to yet in Suphan Buri - but plan driving there tomorrow. I also have rented a hotel room close to Wongwian Yai (since moving 2+ months ago). So, I will either be coming in from Suphan Buri, or from Wongwian Yai. I can get a proof of residence for either, or both.

Thanks,

Sorry, but I don't understand this part. Do you say that your current permission to stay expires 1st of January? If so, then you don't have "plus or minus one week" to apply for the extension. You have to apply before your current permission to stay expires, although if it expires on a weekend/holiday the first working day after should also be ok.

I thought I had a week before or after the Jan 1 check-in. Thanks for informing me of my mistake. But they just changed the holiday - adding Jan 3rd. So when is the first day immigration is opened after the 1st? This information changes my entire New Years plans.

They sure did give me a bummer of a day to extend my visa.

And thanks to Maestro and Lopburi13 for all the directions and advice.

You can apply for the extension with 30 days remaining on your current permission to stay and not lose any days, you didn't have to wait until the last minute. There is a period either side for the address report.

If you use your Suphan Buri adddress, you cannot use Chaeng Wattana for your extension. You must use the office responsible for the area where you live. I don't know what offices are responsible for Wong Wian Yai or or your address inSupan Buri, but you should check before going to Chaeng Wattana.

Just to be clear, the "plus or minus one week" rule applies to 90 day reports, not to visa extensions. As mentioned, visa extensions can be done during the 30 day period period to expiration of the current visa or visa extension.

I can see how someone could become confused and think that "one week plus or minus" applies to all activities with Immigration.
