Buddy Broadband - Set-Up For Wireless Router

Featured Replies

Thanks to board members, I have now got Buddy Broadband up and running at my apartment.

I was able to do this, using the tips from several previous posts (thanks heaps Morbius for the post on setting up Buddy), and some fiddling to get wireless running for multiple computers / iPhones, and an iPad.

There's a few tricks to setting up Buddy.

Firstly, you have to register to get an initial user id established, as covered by faro in a previous post.

Secondly, the Buddy setup is designed for only one IP address, and in order to get multiple devices connected, you must use NAT to get them sharing the single Buddy assigned IP address.

I was supplied with a Speedtouch 4200, but changed it over to a D-LInk DSL-2730U wireless modem / router (also sold here as a Wireless N150 ADSL2+ Modem Router) to give me wifi.

Below are some screen shots showing the configuration settings I used to get it all to work.

Once again, thanks to board members who've previously posted information on configuring Buddy. I've never struck a setup approach like this in Australia, and it would have taken me ages to figure it out otherwise.
