Boat Captain shot in East Pattaya, dies in Hospital

PATTAYA: -- The Captain of a fishing boat was shot in the neck and later died from his injuries at Banglamung Hospital, in the early hours of Wednesday. Police were called to the hospital and inspected the body of Khun Ampon aged 26 who captains a boat based at Baan Amphur. The victim’s wife and owner of the boat reported Khun Ampon as missing on Monday and on Tuesday he was discovered in the Huoy Yai area on the outskirts of Pattaya by local residents after shots were heard. There were no witnesses to the actual shooting and the victim’s wife and owner of the boat are unaware of any problems he had with anyone.

Boat Captain murder suspect caught by Police in East Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- Police from Huoy Yai have arrested a man, suspected of shooting dead the Captain of a Fishing Boat in the early hours of Wednesday. Police Major General Jamnong, the new Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police led a press conference in the grounds of the station on Thursday to announce the arrest of Khun Egapong aged 29 who was arrested in the Huoy Yai area after Police determined he was the prime suspect in the case. He later confessed to shooting Khun Ampon aged 26 following a physical altercation but would not reveal further details of the incident. At the press conference the General also announced the arrest of five people who are thought to be part of a gang responsible for the theft of telephone cable in the area of Highway 331.
