Water Supply Problems

Featured Replies

I've had some water issues since Monday. I am in a two story townhouse. Downstairs I cannot get water from two of six outlets.

Upstairs there is no water in two of four outlets. A neighbor is having similar problems, and there is a lot of construction going on and a lot of water being used on my street.

I have a water tank (which is full) and a pump. I've been told that getting a secondary pump might help, but I know nothing about this stuff.

Any suggestions? Or perhaps a handyman's name/phone number or a plumber? Thanks.

If you have a full tank and a working pump you should have water in all your "outlets" unless some of them are not connected to the supply from the tank. It is possible but unlikely that some of your outlets are connected to the city water line which can be unpredictable instead of connected to your tank. If the pump is working, it seems unlikely that a second one would help much unless you have two feeds from the tank and one has no pump. My guess is that you are being visited by one of the famous Pii Naam in which case no handyman or plumber can help.

My home is located near the end of a soi and it seems everyone from the top of the soi down gets first dibs from the water mains. By the time it gets to my home it is literally an intermittant dribble, and totally insufficient to keep my tank filled. I was advised to install a pump between the water mains line and my tank, effectively sucking the water into my property. After doing that the water now gushes into my tank. I was also warned that this kind of pump is illegal and there could be trouble if I was caught, so the pump is hidden away. Unfortunately I had no option but to install this pump, and I hope I'm not now robbing my neighbors up the soi from their own water supply.

The "there is a lot of construction going on and a lot of water being used on my street." and the "I have a water tank (which is full) and a pump" doesn't really make sense to me. If you have a full tank then it's has nothing to do with the construction (I think I live in the same soi as you), may be you need to fix the water pump or something. Just get a plummer 084 808 7831 or 085 865 3630 if they haven't change number

Thanks. Last night I found out that my neighbor had issues as well, but he got his water back around 8 PM. I believe he has no tank, but I may be wrong. I still have problems and now my tank is nearing empty. I still get great water flow from some places downstairs, and the pump is activated when I run water. No water will come from the downstairs garden hose. Upstairs I get water from the bathroom sprayer and the toilet, but not the sink or the shower. I may indeed be directly connected to city water in some places. A guy is suppose to come around today to look. If not, I will call the numbers given tomorrow. Thanks.
