I've got a few items I need to get rid of - some polycarbonate sheets, a sofa, a coffee table, some fairly large sheets of glass and so on. The regular garbage collectors won't take them (even with a little tea money on offer). I really don't know what to do.

In the past I asked a friend with a pickup truck to help me dispose of similar items. Much to my dismay he simply drove to a quiet place a couple of kilometres away and dumped everything at the side of the road. Not an experience I'd like to repeat.

Any suggestions, please?

I dont know where you live, every day where I live there are pickup trucks driving round with a speaker blaring out that they buy everything, if you live in a condo let the maintenance people take care of it.

Unfortunately I live in a detached house in a moobaan heavily protected by vigilant security guards. No roaming pickup trucks.

You can ask the security guards to help you.

If you are just looking for somebody to take it away and if anything is of any value then this actually would be the easiest way. Tell them they can have anything they want but they just need to take it all.

Thai is very good on renew and reuse any functional left-over. ask the security guy and catch the pickup guys. they don't jump dump the 'collectables'.

seriously, I had the same problem with the interior contractor, he dumped all the construction garbage along the road somewhere.

Pop outside the moobaan or like suggested speak to the guards.. many people have the number for the recycle pickups, shops for instance.

My wife calls a temple in Bangkok Wat Suan Kaew Nonthaburi, which they take just about everything . They arrive with a large truck and load everything up and they are on their way .

A lot of the items are given to the poor other electrical are fixed and passed on or sold.
