3 Foreigners Injured In Bangkok Bomb Explosion

You can kiss your tourism good bye Thailand.

Will they march on the iran embassy NOW?

Tourism agencies eye march on embassy over US terror warning

http://www.thaivisa....terror-warning/

All the ThaiVisa anti-US critics, tourism agency protesters, and Thai government officials who complained to the US because of their warning--- can now get in line for their Statements of Apology.

TV posters can start here, if you'd like...whistling.gif

With all due respect, but I think this is an inappropriate incident / time to gloat. Anti-US criticism, tourism protesters etc. aside, people were injured and many others could have been killed or seriously injured and scared for life.

It still seems unclean what exactly his agenda was, who sent him and if this lone bomber was in fact the threat that the US authorities warned about.

PS: No, I didn't criticize the US terror alerts.

This is what makes my head spin. The terrorist alert originated from the Israelis. 14 countries issued the alert to their citizens concerning safety in Thailand due to terrorist activities, yet most EVERYONE singles out the US as the bad guy in this equation. <deleted>!!!!!

Yes this is the threat that the u.s. warned about. Now there are new warnings for six provinces, wait and see if we are in the clear. Edited by maeab

That area wasn't the target.

Yes, I agree, The Iranian man (cell operating in Thailand) was a target. See this from bbcnews (thai visa does not allow links)

On Tuesday, Israeli defence minister Ehud Barak accused Iran of being behind the Bangkok blast, the AP news agency reports.

The explosion "proves once again that Iran and its proxies continue to perpetrate terror'', he is quoted as saying.

He said Iran and its Lebanese ally Hezbollah were "unrelenting terror elements endangering the stability of the region and endangering the stability of the world".

Mr Barak is on an official visit in Singapore. A statement issued by the Israeli defence ministry noted that Barak was in Bangkok on Sunday, AP reports.

foreigner in the title instead of terrorist.. They dont even see the difference with us and that kind of scum

thais and arabs are both asian ,......how can they class westerners and arabs under the same "farang" umbrella ?? , trying to distance themselves as far as possible ? or just pure ingnorance ?

Thais refer to Arabs as "kaek", not "farang".

Israel blames Iran for Thai bombings

(CNN) -- Israel's defense minister blamed Iran for a series of bombings in the Thai capital of Bangkok Tuesday, a day after attacks against the country's diplomats in India and Georgia.

"The attempted terror attack in Thailand proves once again that Iran and its proxies continue to operate in the ways of terror and the latest attacks are an example of that," said Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who issued the statement from Singapore, where he is currently traveling.

"Iran and Hezbollah are unrelenting terror elements endangering the stability of the region, and endangering the stability of the world," Barak added.

Two Iranians are now in custody in Thailand and another person is at large, the government said.

.

.

.

Thitima told CNN that Thai intelligence agencies don't think the incident was an act of terror because it was carried out in a sporadic way. But, she said, police think that the men may have been selling weapons and drugs.

Why do so many seem to struggle with reading comprehension? Perhaps this will help.....

Many of the posters to this thread live in the Sukhumwit area and we all know that reading comprehension is in an inverse relationship to both the height of the barstool and the amount of time spent sitting on that barstool. Not to mention that tinfoil worn above the ears affects the synaptic action not yet impacted by alcohol.

This thread may somehow, quite miraculously, represent an as yet unexplored new low for Thai Visa. Hey George...Chaiyo!

From all indications thus far, the Thai taxi driver, the school and everything else in that Phra Kanong neighborhood just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time...

That being, in the path of a fleeing and wounded terrorist who was desperate to escape and lashing out at anyone and anything in his path.

<snip>

What do you mean, "the Iranian man was a target"? Do you mean that the Israelis blew him up?

(TV does allow links ... just not in your first few posts)

TANN is reporting that the police have found IRANIAN currency on him.

For those unaware, Hezbollah in Lebanon is joined at the hip with the Iranian regime, as is the murderous regime in Syria. It makes no difference if this Lebanese is an Iranian national or not. Same movement. For all intents and purposes, Iran and Israel are already at war. Hezbollah is one of Iran's proxies. I don't get this target except as pure terrorism with no logical target. The attacks in India and Georgia had logical targets.

That all said, there are reports that Hezbollah (read Iran proxy) is involved in Thailand's Muslim population teaching jihadist propaganda. So who is to say at this point whether this terror event is related to international conflicts, internal Thai Muslim issues, or both?

Syria (same socialist party as Saddam Hussein, not liking the Islam) is not a friend of Iran. All that Jihad blabla is from Arab countries or from their proxies, not Iran.

The topic is much more complex. You are mixing things. Saudis, Kuwait, (Palestine), Afghanistan are these crazys

Iran is a complete different story.

Yes they are. But I agree the situation is complex. (Obviously.)

(CNN)

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast blamed Israel, accusing it of having bombed its own embassies in New Delhi and Tbilisi "to tarnish Iran's friendly ties with the host countries," Iran's state-run Islamic Republic News Agency said. "He brushed aside Israeli accusation on Iranian involvement in the bombing and said that Israel perpetrated the terrorist actions to launch psychological warfare against Iran," IRNA reported.

"Iran condemns terrorism in strongest term and Iran has been the victim of terrorism," Mehmanparast said.

Thus far, there's been no credible, or even incredible, report of what these guys may have had as their target or plan.

Their house went BOOM.... The one guy was wounded and captured... A second guy caught at the airport...

Everything else right now is speculation... and a lot of BS....

There's also no indication one way or the other as to whether these guys have anything to do with the threat warning passed along by Israel and the U.S. back in December....

So until some more facts or supposed facts surface, let's leave the crazed speculation and conspiracy theories in check.

For all the criticism taxi drivers get, I would like to congratulate the drive of the taxi that refused is terrorist ass a ride. His taxi got destroyed by all reports, but this action may have saved tens's or even hundreds of lives, given that carrying bombs around is pretty much hinting this guy was planning on maximum human loss at one location or another. So here's to you taxi driver chaiyo chaiyo your my hero today.

At least as regards the events here today, this (the Iranian govt.) is one of the few sources I believe less than the Thai government. And that's saying A LOT!

The timing (India, Georgia, Thailand) coincides with the long known about retaliation threats related to the four year anniversary of the assassination of Hezbollah leader Imad Mughniya. So when you say there is no evidence of linkage, with Iranians involved, you are simply wrong.

Sirya is one of the only allies of Iran.

Iran helps Sirya with military training, weapons and funding.

The Hezbolla organization from Lebanon are also funded, trained and ideologically backed by Iran and Sirya.

Currently Sirya is not a suspect, since they are occupied with killing their own people, but the Hezbollah could definately be involved.

The target was to be soi 4

What is the factual evidence for that?

There is absolutely none. Troll or idiot --please ignore him. This thread is depressing enough in its revelation of how irrationally some people think.

Exactly my point.

The next bombs could be in Chiangmai and Chiangrai.

This terrorist deserves a Darwin award....

Bangkok, Thailaad - An Iranian man carrying grenades blew off his own legs and wounded four civilians in a trio of blasts that shook a busy Bangkok neighborhood on Tuesday, Thai authorities said.

...

Tuesday’s violence began in the afternoon when a stash of explosives apparently detonated by accident in Moradi’s house, blowing off part of the roof. Police said two foreigners quickly left the residence, followed by a wounded Moradi.

“He tried to wave down a taxi, but he was covered in blood, and the driver refused to take him,” Pansiri said. He then threw an explosive at the taxi and began running.

Police who had been called to the area then tried to apprehend Moradi, who hurled a grenade to defend himself. “But somehow it bounced back” and blew off his legs, Pansiri said.

Interesting and perhaps valid hypothesis. Look at the bright side, they need not worry about deleloping brain tumours.
