Thai - Cambodia Conflict Thai Army: 2,500 Cambodian Troops Killed in Border Clashes
My take is that this is a simple and obvious example of exaggeration. Information warfare as part of a Psy Ops campaign, spreading disinformation and false propaganda to influence attitudes and behaviour of the populace on both sides, targeting the poorly educated, to sap the enemy population’s will to fight while generating and maintaining domestic national support. -

Report Thai Flag Drapes BTS Trains in Tribute to Fallen Soldiers
Photo via Facebook/ รถไฟฟ้าบีทีเอส Bangkok’s BTS trains proudly display the Thai flag, honouring soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during recent border clashes with Cambodia. This symbolic gesture follows a ceasefire agreement reached on 29th July, after weeks of escalating tension. The conflict along the Thailand–Cambodia border ignited mid-July, resulting in significant losses: 17 Thai civilians and 15 soldiers perished. In a heartfelt tribute, the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) wrapped its trains in the national flag, inviting passengers to remember the bravery of those who defended their homeland. Yesterday, the BTS’s Facebook page showcased images of these specially adorned trains, accompanied by a powerful message: “The longest Thai national flag-draped train. The BTS Skytrain joins in honouring Thai heroes and brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect Thailand and national sovereignty by wrapping the train in the longest Thai national flag.” The initiative sees these flag-covered trains operating across all 60 stations over three provinces. Moreover, the Thai national flag is prominently displayed on digital advertising media nationwide at 8am and 6pm daily. This striking display serves both as a tribute and a bold statement of national resilience. The backdrop to these events is a challenging period for Thailand. The border conflict with Cambodia brought both countries to a pivotal moment of tension, underscoring the importance of diplomatic resolutions. While the ceasefire brought a welcome reprieve, the echo of the clashes is a solemn reminder of the sacrifices endured. In communities across Thailand, the memories of those lost and the ongoing efforts to maintain peace resonate deeply. The BTS’s tribute is a significant gesture, encapsulating the spirit of a nation united in mourning and respect. For many passengers, the sight of the flag-draped trains is more than just a memorial; it is a visual testament to the unity and resilience of the Thai people. Engaging in this daily ritual of remembrance, riders are encouraged to reflect on the costs of conflict and the value of peace. The initiative is also a stirring reminder of Thailand’s commitment to honouring its heroes. The public response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many taking to social media to express their support. Hashtags like #TruthFromThailand and #WeLoveThailand have gained traction, spreading a message of national pride and peace. In converting losses into a message of strength, the BTS initiative stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of the nation. Through these train journeys, Thailand shares its story with the world—a story of bravery, loss, and the unyielding hope for lasting peace. As passengers board these remarkable trains, they carry with them the memories of the fallen, ensuring that the sacrifices of the brave soldiers and civilians will not be forgotten. This tribute is a poignant reminder of the cost of conflict and the enduring quest for peace. With displays planned to continue, these trains serve not only as a tribute but as a symbol of a nation’s resilience, reminding everyone of the courage displayed in trying times. As Thailand moves forward, the lessons of the past remain firmly in view, fostering a spirit of unity and remembrance among its people. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Thaiger 2025-08-06 -

Thai - Cambodia Conflict Thai Army: 2,500 Cambodian Troops Killed in Border Clashes
In my view, this announcement does as much good for Thailands' PR effort as Harrys' claims, as to how many fuzzy-wuzzies he killed in Afghanistan, did for him! Some people should learn when to keep their mouths shut. -
