Phuket gets a larger airport

BANGKOK: -- Phuket, one of Thailand's best beach destinations, is to get a new airport terminal by 2014 with construction to begin this summer, according to the Phuket News.

The new terminal will be used for international flights and will increase the airport's capacity from 8.2 to 12.5 million passengers a year. Up to 20 planes per hour will be able to be accommodated. The terminal for national flights, meanwhile, is set to get a facelift, with the modernisation work due for completion by 2016. - dpa

Nok Air returns to Don Mueang

Nok Air's operations returned to Don Mueang Airport yesterday [March 6] following the airport's closure in late 2011 due to severe flooding. Chilling with Crispy Baguette

The acclaimed musical trio known as Crispy Baguette DJs will be adding their blend of carefully chosen music to the ambience in the lounge area of Dusit Thani Bangkok's top floor French restaurant, D'Sens. Led by DJ Lom, the music will set the mood from 6.30pm until 10pm everyday except Sunday. The feemale DJs will be taking it in turns to add flair to the flavour in D'Sens half-moon shaped lounge area, an ideal location for relaxing with friends. The hotel is a short walk from Silom MRT and Saladaeng BTS stations.

Haute cuisine on the fly

Fly Lufthansa's First and Business classes, and dine in style. Part of the Star Chefs programme, Germany's flag carrier brings haute cuisine to the air for passengers onboard its daily flights from Bangkok to Frankfurt and Singapore to Frankfurt. The food is orchestrated by Executive Chef Leonardo Concezzi of St Regis Hotel Bangkok.

Wonder if the will arrange for proper taxi and limo service outside the new terminal.

Make arriving there seem like a pleasure as opposed to what you encounter now

when landing in Phuket, wink wink nudge nudge .. .say no more say no more
