Two old maids steal farang’s wallet

Hue and cry leads to prompt arrest British tourist Alan Scott, aged 50, was the victim of a Granny assault after two older women made a grab for his wallet. He was minding his own business in Soi Post Office when two women approached on a motor bike.

They said he was without a shadow of doubt a handsome man, even as one of the women caressed him whilst the other fingered his valuables. They did manage to lift his wallet, which contained 800 baht and 10 pounds, but were not quick enough. The Scotsman’s cries were picked up by other people in the street who surrounded the old maids and prevented their speedy and wished for departure.

Another kindly person telephoned the police who were at the crime spot within a couple of minutes. The culprits Miss Pranee and Miss Samonchit, both past the first bloom of youth, confessed that they had entertained notions of theft but had wrongly assumed that their prey was drunk. They thought it would be an easy matter to separate him from his cash, but this miscalculation had resulted in their being detained at the police station. It turned out that Mr Scott was as sober as a judge.
