It jumped and freaked them out. Hot water didn't kill it or faze it one bit. Does anyone know what kind, or if it 'was' poisonous?

Thanks

It looks like a cockroach eater! Hot (boiling) water or a good dose of insect spray kills them but the latter takes a few minutes. As far as i'm aware they're harmless/non-venomous but I don't like them in the same room as me if I can help it.

A clout with a coconut brush also does the trick:)

eitherway what ever it was it deserved a better ending than it got. yeap definatly if you going kill them make it boiling water not hot. boiling would have killed it quick.

Some years ago, Big Joe got bitten by one. It turned into a nasty infection and he ended up in hospital.

My first encounter with one of these was also in my kitchen sink. He was missing 3-4 legs though which I thought was strange. Until I saw a small lizard on the wall a meter or so away. I guess when I turned on the light I must have interrupted a fight.

Scared of spiders. hunh. These big guys eat cockroaches, disgusting vermin. Given a choice between a big spider and a cockroach I pick Mr. Spider any day.

Jeez, didn't any of you people read Charlotte's Web?
