Galaxy Note

Featured Replies

I recently bought a Galaxy Note and have language set to English UK.

However when I want to check for a software update, the Terms and Conditions to accept are displayed in Thai Language, probably because a Thai simcard is inserted.

Anyone know how to change settings that it is displayed in English?

Without a lot more details I am guessing you are trying to do an OTA (over the Air) firmware update and based on either/both your device's IMEI or current IP address you are being re-directed to a local Thai server, which then presents you with an acceptance screen in Thai.

Can you look around the firmware update settings and see if you have the option to choose a different locale/server?

Which rev. do you have now, including baseband?

I indeed update over wifi as i haven't a 3G plan yet.It however doesn't allow me to connect to the update server if no sim card is inserted. There is no option to choose servers.

I have in the meantime already accepted the Thai terms and conditions and it told me that no update is available.Currently Android version 2.3.6 is installed with baseband N7000xxla4.

But now when I try to create a samsung account for the samsung apps I get the terms and conditions again in Thai.I have no problem to accept them as nobody ever reads them anyway, but I don't think is meant to be that way.

You might consider using KiES rather than OTA for any firmware updates.

When I use a browser and go to www.samsungapps.com I get the page loaded in Thai. Down at the bottom of this page you can choose a different country, look for the Thai flag, click on it then maybe try Singapore.

Again, based on your IP address you are getting directed to Thai sites. There must be a workaround for that, maybe look in the user's guide? Have a search?

Or get locator spoof and be in whatever country you want. GPS must be on.

Thanks for that hint,I think that will come handy for other applications as well.
