Just told wife to buy a Honda Jazz (top model) at 715K Baht.

It actually is a Japanese spec. with a few extras (6 air bags and other small features) at 750K baht (sold by a Honda dealer in Khon Kean).

Anyway the question is - there is no leather interior in the Jap. model I am told, so is there leather in the Thai SV model ?

Info from wife is, Honda says - no leather in the Thai SV model as well -

I have seen models 2010/2011 on one2car with leather interior.

The Honda website doesn't tell me if interior is leather or not.

Does anyone here know what the leather situation is on the SV model ?

Thanks

Leather is not standard in any model Jazz sold by Honda Thailand. Any cars you see advertised on one2car have had leather fitted retrospectively. The Dealer's do however generally offer it as an extra cost option which is outsourced by them. There are a number of different grades and levels of quality available. Which one you want is your choice. They will probably not offer this option to you with the JP version though as it has side air bags in the front seats.

I believe the Japanese Jazz has a good number of improvements over the TH version such as HID headlamps, Multiple Air Bags, Auto Climate Control including heater which maybe useful in the far north at times, LED tail Lamps, Fog Lamps, & DVD etc which make the 35,000 premium reasonably good value. They are likely to command a small premium over the TH version upon resale. I hope this helps you.

There didn't used to be leather in the top model Jazz. The versions on one2car I suspect were fitted with after market leather. That of course is an option. If you want leather, 6 airbags, climate, cruise, bluetooth and a 1.6 there's always the Ford Fiesta sport ultimate at 759,000 THB.

I'd worry about aftermarket leather - just looks at some of the newish cars for sale fitted with it (on one2car). Some seem to have wrinkles where there shouldn't be, so the fit isn't tight like in factory leather. I have factory leather, but if I didn't I'd probably just put on seat covers on the fabric to protect them

Question to you guys with the leather seats here it Th,do you think it's a good idea practically speaking? It's very hot and it takes some time to cool the car even with the coolest AC,it is hard to keep it in top shape and does not last that long (IMO)...or is it more of the luxury item and fashion statement?

I've had factory leather for 8 years in my civic. Still looks great but I look after it well. I also use front seat covers to protect it, no covers in the back. The standard seats in mine are quite hard to so covers make it a bit more comfortable. I'll still choose leather if its factory fitted in my next car.
