Phramongkutlao Hospital

Featured Replies

Has anyone used Phramongkutlao Hospital (http://www.pcm.ac.th/)?

I'm planning to have septoplasty - to straighten my septum and reduce turbinates to sort out my breathing at Bangkok Hospital but my girlfriend states that it's way overpriced and suggested using Phramongkutlao Hospital.

Has anyone had this procedure at Bangkok Hospital or any other good hospital in Bangkok or about Phramongkutlao Hospital?

Big thanks!!!

Also known as the "Army Hospital" although it is open to civilians. Military hospitals in Thailand offer good quality services, as do tertiary government hospitals like Chulalonghorn and Siriraj. All of these will cost much less than a private hospital but entail some red tape and inconveniences especially in the initial process of getting registered and seeing a specialist.

At Chula you can get around this to an extent by attending their quasi-private after hours clinic. I don't know if Phramongkutlao has a sim iliar arrangement or not.

Other disadvantage is the once admitted, nursing staff will not speak English. If your gf can stay with you throughout, maybe not a big issue. (And in fact the English proficiency of nursing staff at the private "international" hospitals isn't all that good).
