Lpg Conversion Of Brand New Car & Warranty Issues?

Featured Replies

I am planning to buy a new car, before that 100k rebate ends. Right now I'm driving a honda civic with LPG installed and pretty happy with cost of fuel.

Does anybody know what will happen to car warranty if I decide to put LPG? I am thinking to buy honda city, but if lpg will void warranty, I have other alternatives in my mind (Ford fiesta HB, Mazda 2).

In my home country, honda invalidates warranty for engine but rest of the car is still under honda's warranty. They have new promotion aswell, that is if you put LPG in their service for a little bit extra cost, they install BRC kit and you keep your warranty intact.

I am open to suggestions.

I'm pretty sure your engine warranty will be voided. Also note over the long run, modern honda engines (4cyl) don't cope well with the heat generated by lpg / ngv. If you plan to keep if for only 100K kms then it should be ok, but beyond that, the valves / valve seats can suffer recession. Personally I'd look to the fiesta for good fuel economy.

If you are serious about alternative fuel, look to vehicles factory produced to rum them - mostly cng. Also, we are not sure about the price of lpg over the long run, if subsidies are lifted.

Unfortunately CNG is not an option. CNG Models comes with 1.6 liter engines that disqualifies them from 100k excise tax rebate, plus I hate waiting queues in CNG stations.

Anybody know an LPG conversion kit that provides engine warranty for your car?
