[Myanmar] Uk To Open €˜British Interests’ Office In Naypyidaw

British Foreign Secretary William Hague said on Thursday that the UK will open a new branch of its Foreign Office in Burma’s new capital, Naypyidaw. The move follows a visit to the country by Prime Minister David Cameron, who recently became the first leader of a Western country to travel to the former pariah nation in decades. Hague said the new office would “provide enhanced access to government interlocutors who are based in Naypyidaw.†He also announced that Britain will lift its policy of discouraging trade with Burma.
