Is anybody close to soi 2 in pattaya?

Going back to thailand in Feb 22nd

Always stay in the sabai lodge, mrs used to book me a room a week before i got there. (never full) Looked on the internet to see the prices and they have gone up £5 a night. The mrs finds this hard to believe. I was just wondering if anyone is local and is passing, any chance you could pop in and ask how much the standard room is in Feb. When i looked before (march this year) the internet price did not match the actual price when there.

Have called them but they say the inernet gives you the prices and not too helpfull.

I know its cheaper just to walk in.

I run accross this same situation at other hotels.

It's kind of a hit or miss deal. Some hotels if you book thru the net are cheaper and some walk in's are cheapier. I stayed at the welcome plaza and booked the rooms over the net and was charged 1300bt/nite and the lady at the check in counter told us that we should cancel our reservation and recheck in and she could get us the same room for 800bt/nite. From now on I just walk in and ask for the price. So many Hotels around you bound to find one you like at the right price. Plus you don't have to fight to get your money back if you are not happy with the room.

When you go to check in don't mention that you have a reservation, if they quote a lower price just sign up at that lower price, if it is higher then mention your reservation.

Can't help you with the current price right now, a couple years ago I think their low season price was around 500 baht. Good location if you have to use the Big C a lot. Closer down around Mike Mall might be a little cheaper or on Soi Buakhaw.

Yeah i know Brit but we didn't know when exactly, we where coming (only booked it 2 days ago). As it is, we are only going for 5 days at first, then to Chaiya Phuum, then Krabi, Hua Hin and then probably back to Patters. We'll have to meet up for a Shandy or 2 :o:D

But i'll buy you a Singha for the kind offer if you fancy meeting up one night. Maybe have a session with Brit and who ever else fancies meeting up :D

No - all of the hotels do not require a deposit to hold a room!

Maybe some of the cheaper places don't want to go through the bother of taking a deposit. Perhaps they figure someone else will walk through the door and book the room anyway.

I would guess that most of the expensive hotels would ask for a deposit ahead of time.

Most of the times I use this web site as they tend to offer lower prices than walk in. They are also great in that they always seem to find a room for me. About a week ago I booked a room in Pattaya on Saturday morning for Saturday night – no problems at all even though the hotel (I called and checked first) said they were full.

You do need to pay in advance though.

Everyone says all the hotels are full but I assure you the bars are not, maybe Pattaya has finally reached saturation point on the beer bars.

OAP there is a new hotel (it is called "Sabai something or other") at the 2nd road end of Soi 1 (behind the Soapy Massage), from the outside does not look busy at all, it might be worth a look.
