What Snake Is This?

I moved a water barrel for cleaning two days ago, there was a small snake under the barrel that I have not seen before. The snake was about 30-40cm long, not much wider than a pencil, small pointed head, bark brown with two white stripes running down the body from the neck to the tail. No I didn't do the panic dance or kill it.

Similar, but the head of the snake I saw was the same width and colour as the body, except for the stripes, they stopped at the neck. Maybe a variant of the snake you posted. Thank you
